We open doors to the world through our language program, where our students learn about language and culture.

Igniting minds with our LOTE program

The language program at Christ Church Grammar School focuses on igniting students' interest and developing students' capability and skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students learn the language and culture through songs, rhymes, stories, role play, and visual aids including interactive Communication Technology. We build confidence and develop skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

Languages from Prep to Year 6

Our students from Prep to Year 3 learn Chinese or French and will follow this through to Year 6. Chinese calligraphic writing is introduced from Year 2 onwards.

Our students from Prep to Year 3 can learn Italian through our lunchtime Italian Club, and our students in Year 4 to 6 learn Italian or Chinese.

Our French Breakfast Club is available for students in Year 2 to 6, and offers an opportunity for conversational French over a croissant and hot chocolate. French is also an extra-curricular activity after school.

Children in our 4-Year-Old Program may choose to learn French as an co-curricular activity. This option will incur a fee as it forms part of the co-curricular program.
