Christ Church Grammar School is seeking a dedicated Grounds & Maintenance Assistant to ensure our facilities and outdoor spaces remain safe, clean, and well-maintained for our students, staff and visitors.

About the role
The Grounds and Maintenance Assistant reports to the Property and Maintenance Manager and plays an active role in providing assistance to ensure that the school’s grounds are well-maintained, physically secure, safe and compliant and kept at a high standard of presentation. The role will assist the Maintenance department in delivering and achieving well maintained grounds as a primary focus. In conjunction with grounds maintenance other duties might include meeting the requirements of the day-to-day tasks which include maintenance repairs, assisting with pack up / pack down event set ups, cleaning, and minor capital works projects. The role requires a can-do attitude which will assist in the diverse nature of tasks.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this position you should demonstrate the following:
- Experience in general cleaning (including grounds) and general handyman tasks and duties
- Proficiency in using outdoor tools and machinery such as lawnmowers, trimmers, leaf blowers, and pressure washers.
- Appropriate communication skills and ability to work effectively with a range of people.
- Ability to analyse problems and determine an appropriate course of action.
- Proves capability in team membership, mutual support, common goal development and achievement.
